A Pakistani wedding or Shaadi is also called a holy matrimony in some religion. It comes with different names and in different religion but it has the same thing and meaning to every one of us. A wedding is a way showing off your love to the girl or boy; it is a holy and legal occasion that will happen to everyone in the world. After the Shaadi, a reception for Pakistani is being held by the bride-to-be’s house. All the family members of the bride were the responsible for all of the food and arrangements to the wedding. However, some of them held their reception in hotel or hall, and maybe in the tent. In the ceremony the visitors will only be the family of the bride and groom.

During the ceremony groom or barat will procession into where the bride’s house is located and its arrival will be indicates by a drum or dhol in Pakistan. The cousins, niece, aunts, and mother of the bride will be bringing flowers to shower in the path way of the groom as a greeting. It is also in the Pakistani’s ceremony that the groom will be hold from entering until he gives a sufficient amount of cash to the bride’s sisters and friends. This part of the celebration is becoming tough to the groom that is why he brings a lot of money during the ceremony. It was one of their custom, one of their popular custom is the stealing the shoes of the groom this will be a stealing for ransom. The groom will pay for those who steal his shoes and the thief will demand a sum of money for the return of the shoes. This was lead by the bride’s sister, friends, and cousins and on the other side are the brothers and friends of the groom. The ceremony of wedding will be lead by an Imam or a priest which formally indicates the signing of the contract. The contract involved the money that the groom gave for her wife. The contract signing will be witness by the parents of both sides. The marriage contract is called Nikah-Naama for Pakistani people or in Muslim. The contract specifies the amount of money the groom will give the bride; it will guarantee the bride’s freedom within the marriage and acts as the bride’s safety net.
