Have you ever gone to a Pakistani wedding or to your friend’s wedding? Have you seen the dresses they are wearing in the ceremony? Well, if you do see one, how does it look like? I have seen one. It was the wedding of my friend, but I just went there to look at her in her wedding dress. She was so pretty and glamorous. She even looks like a princess in her look. The wedding dress for Pakistani is come in different fabrics. It looks like the same to look at, but it was not really. I also thought that it was, even so, in fabrics until I have known it for myself.  The varieties of dresses were from cotton to silk and from georgettes to crapes. These dresses cause a lot of rupees. However, it’s not important to them. Wedding for them is really a blessing and very important event for them. As what they have said that “sky is the limit” when choosing a gown for the wedding, it doesn’t matter to them when it prices to be high.

There are lots of varieties of gowns and dresses for their wedding, the bride and groom to be will have to choose what they wanted to wear for their wedding ceremony. One of the famous and most expensive varieties of their clothes was the south silk; this is known to be woven with pure gold threads. There are a lot of works now in Pakistani wedding dresses.  They have done now Zari, organza, zardozi, sequins, embroidery, cut work, patchwork, mirror work, kundan and pearl work. This is the different kind of works that you can choose for. As you can observe, most of the gown that the bride wears is red or maybe pink, these are the traditional colors in the wedding. However, they replace it now with the color peach, wine or burgundy. They choose these colors because it blends with the skin, skin tone was given more importance. If you notice, pure gold threads and wiring were extremely used by richer people in Pakistan’s wedding ceremonies. Instead, there is gold or silver washed wires in the clothes. If you can afford to buy these kinds of dresses, then you can wear it. However, the common dresses they wear in most of Pakistani wedding are the Ghagra Choli or Lehnga.

The wedding for Pakistani people is really the most important event in their culture. They prepared it for the best they could. A wedding dress is the more important thing they also put on attention. Brides wear the dress just like a living princess. They should be the most beautiful creature during the wedding ceremony. It doesn’t matter to them how expensive the dress is, the important thing to them is how they can make the bride like a live doll. They put many accessories to her to make her shine in the crowd. Apart from the precious Ghagra, Choli is the Sari, which is the most popular outfit during a Pakistani wedding.
